How to confess feelings over text
Write a text that opens a conversation instead of trying to complete the whole relationship in one bubble.

Text for clarity, not suspense
Send the important sentence early. Long lead-ins such as “can I tell you something?” create anxiety without giving the recipient anything useful to respond to.
Keep the first message compact and do not send follow-up paragraphs while waiting. Let the other person choose the pace of the conversation.
Three ways the words can begin
01“I have been wanting to say this clearly: I like you. Would you be open to going on a date with me?”
02“Our conversations have started to mean a lot to me, and I have feelings for you. You can take your time answering.”
03“Small confession: I am into you. No dramatic speech—just honesty, and no pressure if you are not in the same place.”
Is confessing by text less sincere?
Not automatically. Text can be thoughtful and accessible. What matters is that the message is honest, proportionate, and does not trap the recipient into an instant answer.
When should I send it?
Choose a time when they are likely able to read and respond privately. Avoid late-night urgency, work emergencies, or repeated checking messages.
