Drafts and generated text

Your inputs and generated drafts stay in browser memory. Session recovery may use session storage in the current tab. “Save on this device” uses local storage only after you choose it. We do not send this text to our server, analytics, advertising, metadata, or URLs.

Copy, download, and release

Copy places text in your device clipboard. Download creates a text file in your browser. Release clears the active draft and the saved copy for that tool on this device.

Optional first-party page analytics

On our production domain, you can allow Want to Confess to measure page views, anonymous visitors, sessions, broad traffic sources, countries, and popular public pages. If you continue without analytics, no analytics request is made.

After you allow analytics, this browser creates random visitor and session identifiers. The server converts them to one-way hashes before storing them in Cloudflare D1. We retain page-view and session records for up to 120 days. We store only the public path, external referrer hostname, approximate country, and event time. We do not store raw IP addresses, full referrer URLs, page queries, names, answers, drafts, generated messages, or tool actions.

Your consent, anonymous visitor identifier, and active session are saved in this browser. Clearing site data resets them. Counts are estimates because declined analytics, disabled JavaScript, blockers, cleared storage, and bot filtering affect measurement.

Advertising and cookies

Advertising is disabled by default. If it is enabled after publisher approval, this policy and the consent experience will disclose the cookies and identifiers used by advertising services. Ads never appear inside private writing controls or beside generated text.

Shared devices

Do not choose local saving when another person can access your browser profile. Clear the draft when you finish and use a private device when discovery could create risk.
